How do I enable HDR10, 10-bit color precision, or YUV 4:4:4 with my GeForce NOW Premium membership?

HDR10 and 10-bit color precision are features available to GeForce NOW Ultimate and Performance members, and each has its own requirements.

Using HDR10 is recommended for users playing an HDR-capable game.

On a supported platform, you will find the HDR10 setting in the GeForce NOW app settings > Gameplay. To enable HDR10 streaming with the GeForce NOW Premium membership, you need a display that supports the HDR10 format.

For games that do not support HDR or members without an HDR-capable display, 10-bit color precision is recommended for the best image quality. This will convert the 8-bit content rendered by the game into 10-bit data before encoding, allowing the encoder to use higher precision and better preserve the game content before it is sent to your device for decoding.

On a supported platform, you will find the color precision setting in the GeForce NOW app settings > Gameplay > Color quality. The 10-bit setting is recommended, and 8-bit is provided for troubleshooting or for devices where 10-bit is not supported.

YUV 4:4:4 is a separate color quality setting available to GeForce NOW Ultimate members that encodes color at a higher resolution, resulting in better color separation and better quality in fine text. YUV 4:4:4 is currently available on the native Windows or macOS app. YUV 4:2:0 is the default value if your system does not support YUV 4:4:4.

NOTE: YUV 4:4:4 is currently not supported with AV1 encoding.
